Hi

I have purchased from Amazon J92 Clear Nylon D'Addario Pro-Arte Concert Ukulele strings - GCEA so they arrive and when I went to put them on my Uke, the inner sleeves read Classical Guitar J4501 E - 1st; J4502 B - 2nd; J4503 G - 3rd and J4501 E - 1st. I returned them to Amazon stating they had sent incorrect strings although the outer label reads Ukulele J92. Today they have replaced my order and yes you guessed it exactly the same correct outer packaging but Guitar strings inside!

Now my question is do I send them back and have my money refunded or are these strings actually suitable for my GCEA tuned Concert Uke?

Rob if you're out there can you answer my question or anyone please.

I know technically this should probably be posted elsewhere but I thought I needed to catch the eye of my 4-string friends!

Strings are manufactured in specific gages or size. Probably the most often used  instrument for these specific strings is guitar, so that's how they are labeled. This does not prevent these same strings from being suitable for ukulele, banjo sitar, mandolin or dulcimer.

Give them a try on the string positions they are labeled for.

I have the same strings for tenor.  These are the correct strings.  They are just high tension.

BTW I have been working with D'Addario and we have come up with a set that will allow you to tune the Uke in 5ths like a mandolin.
