Yeah Buck Trent is featured in the current issues of Spartanburg Magazine which is put out by the Spartanburg Herald-Journal.

This video accompanies that article. The printed magazine is hitting the streets locally now.

I met with the writer of this article, Dan Armonaitis, this Tuesday and he told me he interviewed Buck when he was in town visiting his kinfolks last Christmas.

LOLOLOL!!!  WOW!  That brings back memories of the old Hee Haw days.  I remember  when my dad bought me the Roy Clark and Buck Trent album, "A Pair of Fives."  I used to love that album.

What I appreciate about Buck is that, while he's not the best, or the cleanest banjo player, he knew how to entertain and have fun.  He also played a roll (pun intended) in helping to popularize the banjo when he was on Hee Haw.   Proof that you don't have to be great banjo player in order to succeed.

Thanks for posting that. Very interesting article. I didn't know all of that about him.  I'm going to try to get a copy of the magazine.

Well that's an interesting opinion. Buck Trent is one of the most imaginative pickers out there. I personally think it takes a little more that just being an entertainer to play with the likes of Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton if you're a slouch. Trent was named Country Music Association Instrumentalist of the Year in 1975 and 1976, and he won several Music City News awards.

I don't know, I listen to Buck Trent and hear a lot of very cool ideas. But what do I know?

Yes, Frank...Buck Trent is underappreciated. He's played a lot of very creative music, some of it on an electric string-bender banjo made by Sho-Bud.

Thanks for posting "Carroll County Accident." It was great to hear it again.
