Hi just wanted to share my excitement (fear) after purchasing a Nechville Classic today.  It arrives on Monday!

I mainly wanted to share that Al Price at Nechville was most helpful.. He is passionate about the products and after several emails/calls he led me to a wonderful dealer to help me.  Al had some options for me and ultimately encouraged me to call Armando ay Penny Lane Emporium in Ft. Lauderdale FL.  

They were both great to work with.  I really didn't expect to purchase a classic as I consider it my dream banjo (price too) but it all seemed to click.  Anyway anyone interested in a Nechville these guys are great!  I hope to speak/meet Tom some day!

Congrats to you!!!!  I bought my Nechville Nuvo two (or so) years ago and had the same "buyer's trepidations at first too.  Those lasted only until I got the banjo.  Once I had it in hand, I was tremendously glad that I had "taken the plunge".  Al Price is a wonderful "ambassador" for Nechville.  He went above and beyond the "call of duty" to get me the banjo I wanted.  GREAT customer service for a GREAT banjo!  

(P.S. - - Call in sick to work on Monday.  The only thing you'll want to do is pick!!)

Excellent! And congratulations! You're going to love the Nechville. I was fortunate to be able to play several while I was in Minneapolis at the Nechville factory. Those folks know what they're doing and have all of the passion behind it that you'd expect. And Armando is a fantastic guy to work with, as well (not to mention a pretty damn good banjo player). You've done it the right way all around. ;-)

Enjoy that new banjo and get a video of you playing it up here on BHO for us to see.

Congratulations! I'm a bit jealous however, since I won't be getting my Phantom until sometime in November. Met Tom in Telluride this year and decided at that point I was getting a Nechville. Both Tom and Al were great to work with when discussing custom options and I'm really looking forward to November!

You guys are living large.  Nice to hear there are still companies who care.  I still remember filling out my Gibson warranty card with a correction on the serial # after the store owner and I checked it and realized Gibson had the wrong number on it.  So I mailed it into Gibson with a note, then followed up with a phone call (voice mail) and an email asking them to confirm the correction.  I never received any response from anyone.  I just gave up.  My banjo is fine, and unlike a car, I doubt I will find a defect after a few miles.  But the difference in attention to customers is obvious.  Not even sure if it had anything to do with banjo production plans or lack thereof.  I suspect it is more of a corporate culture issue.

I also like my Nechville and I know that Tom and Al Price are rally great and very professional guys! My own Necville story was fantastic!

Hey Dave, Congrats !!! Although I do not own a Nechville, I did just recently have the chance to go directly to their shop in the twin cities and got to play a few. Tom had just left for europe , but Jeramiah was there and gave me the full tour and i now know what goes into every Nechville. They are very passionate about what they do and do it very well. I'm sure you'll be pleased. They have been added to my stable list. Enjoy the hell out of it. Nothing like the anticipation og gettin a new banjer!!! Slammer!!!

I'm a Nechvillian too. It's one of the best buying decisions I've made in years. No buyer's remorse at all!

My Nachville Athena banjo plays itself. I'm just there for ornamentation

I am a double Nechvillian and will never go back to all those nuts and bolts, heavy as lead, non adjustable banjos. Been there and done that

James  You  are  so  right.  The  Nechville's  are  The  Best  New  Banjo  being  made,   I do  not  want  to  be  a  nut  turner  again.    You  get  it  all   volume  Tone  and  complete   adustability.    Sittin  Flat  On  Ready.

Yes! I received my new nechville classic deluxe this afternoon.

I'm taking the whole thing in. First that I purchased such a nice banjo. It's hard to imagine ever taking it out of my home, but of course I will...:)

It's heavier than I expected but thats because I have been learning on an open back and my nechville has a steel tone ring.

The playability is definitely easier.....speaking from a newbie perspective. I attribute that to the radius finger board.

Iv'e spent 3 hours picking, (taking a break for dinner) and definitely enjoy every minute.

Lastly I can tell I will be practicing for longer periods of time as I noticed I had less fatigue in my left forearm (my chording hand). Again I assume that has to do with radius finger board and maybe the neck?

As I mentioned I'm still taking it all in and probably will for a long while.........:)
