It's terrific! The song, the performance, the look, the interesting use of the banjo - all of it!
And the production values of the video itself are really good. I certainly wouldn't have guessed it was the first video that Alexander has ever made!

Hi Everyone,
I just got a load of this and am quite delighted and amazed that it's been produced half way around the world by such powerfully creative and talented artists. Janna and Alex, in all the things you do - with your instruments, singing, as performers, in media - is of such a noticeably high level it's impossible for me to imagine anything but success for each of you in your artistic pursuits. Yours is a unique global story. Thanks for bringing hope to the world (especially mine) through your music.
Below is the email I sent my friends.
Dear Friends, Janna Kim, a fabulous musician in Uzbekistan, just recorded a video of Mountain Stream, a song I composed over forty years ago, when I was Janna's age. She's a remarkable vocalist and banjo player who taught herself banjo, over the Internet, on a makeshift banjo made in Central Asia. As far as I can tell she's the only person in Uzbekistan who plays American banjo (although the instrument's antecedents were created in her part of the world). I became aware of Janna Ki a few years ago, through her Internet postings - and I went with an impulse to round up money from banjo players around the world to get her a top-flight instrument, which she's playing in the video. I wrote the Mountain Stream in 1970 when I was making a shift from working as a music therapist in Massachusetts to going to India to study the sitar. This is the first video production of Janna's boyfriend and music partner, Alex. Enjoy.pauL

Thanks, friends for watching and for your comments!
I've noticed that music written by Paul Roberts acts relaxing and my friends also said after watching the video that this music can cure if somebody had a bad day![]()

Great music. Great video. Great banjo playing! It's great to see banjo bringing together the world.

Well done, girl! The entire production was well put together, and I enjoyed the playing, particularly your restrained use of tempo rubato. I look forward to hearing more of your work.
By the way, I couldn't help noticing how small you looked behind the banjo. Janna, you're TINY! :-)
