this Yank will miss it, too; altho I did enjoy it very much the time I went

I did plan on going, but looking at the price it seem's a bit expensive. I have a lot of work to do on my house, so £75.00 for a couple of night's camping seem's a bit ott. I know the artist's have to be paid, but come on ;-)
Hope all is ok with your dad Joe. :-)
Chris Cooper - Posted - 07/04/2013: 00:11:25
Joe, All our very best wishes are coming your way mate. Were all thinking of you and your Dad, hope he has a speedy recovery. If you need anything at all, don't hesitate to call.
I'm disappointed so many are giving it a miss this year; I realise that the price is higher than usual, but then again we have to remember that the price of everything has gone through the roof in this silly financial climate we seem to find ourselves in, festival organisers aren't immune to the price hikes from all the suppliers of amenities etc, y'know. It's still a mile off the price of the Didmarton festival (which through the same financial struggles has been demoted to little more than a picking weekend)
I would have thought after giving us this lovely festival for 25years, more people would be turning out to support the organisers John and Gill as well as the North Wales Festival itself. The festival of friends- remember?
We have a very small and fragile festival circuit, It needs to be nurtured not kicked into touch as soon as the going gets tough, we'll end up with no festivals at all, at this rate.
Those of you that are going, can't wait to see you all, we'll have a pick, a drink or three and more than anything - a great weekend!
See you there!!!

I'll be there, along with our band of fellow geriatrics: "Pickin' in the Kitchen". We'll probably do two or three numbers in the open-mic tent on Saturday afternoon.
See y'all

The comradeship, friendliness, sessions and the sheer willingness of people to share tunes, knowledge and experience at this festival make it worth going to despite the price ,and I speak as someone who travelled from the west coast of Ireland and paid the extraordinary ferry fee. also I have rarely laughed so much- thanks especially to all in the Longway band for their sense of humour.
Regards to all over the water, Bill
