Cool new video by a guitar website where Leroy reveals some of his "monkeyshines" moves!
I met his mentor, Cordell Kemp when he was in his 90s and he could play a "cut a shine" with the best of 'em then. But he did prefer a little banjo like the SS Stewart American Princess because he was so frail.

One of the many reasons I was drawn to learn the banjo is that Leroy Troy makes it look like so much fun!
By the way, Leroy and the Tennessee Mafia Jug Band are scheduled to play on a live stream next Wednesday, August 7th at Music City Roots/Loveless Barn. You can stream it for free at this link. The show will have some other artists too and it starts at 8pm eastern time:
He & the Jug Band have played this venue before and they are always a joy to watch.

The thing that always bugs me when I see someone like Leroy or any of the other great musicians that we all know of
is the fact that they probably have other jobs and do this for the pure love of the music. Meanwhile, the "music industry"
has so many hacks out there making obscene amounts of money.
It is a strange world.
