I realize this forum is really for original performances . . . but considering ol' Pete just passed I figure many people would enjoy seeing and hearing Pete in his prime. Rest in Peace Pete.

The video is a ton of fun, with scenes and music from Americana that live on. Thanks, Tom!

Thanks very much for sharing this, Tom. A very fitting tribute to Pete, indeed. I first encountered him as a child, my parents having taken me to one of his children's concerts some time in the mid 50s. Made quite an impression on me, even at that young age--probably why I took up the banjo.

I'm glad everyone likes the old film! Pete was pretty complicated guy but I think it is a mistake to view him from the lens of 2014. The world was a very different place in the early 1940s! Here is Pete entertaining a crowd that includes Eleanor Roosevelt. One thing that is in no doubt in anyone's mind . . . Pete was a great champion of the banjo!
