That is a silver plated and carved  #2.  It  looks like maybe the tension hoop and some hooks & nuts may have been replaced.

$1000 Euros (US$1368) is a bargain for a number 2. Not too long ago, those banjos were bringing US$2000 or more.

I agree.
If slightly inclined to do so, this would be a fine instrument.
I am always amused when a guitar-guy plays one of these for the first time. They invariably light-up!
B&D never made any clunkers.

I´ll never trust a player / seller, that doesn´t cut off the surplus string ends - LOL!

A few years ago a banjo like this at this price - and placed in Europe - would have been indeed interesting for me - but also the prices for fully restored examples (like the majority of mine) have dropped very much - all of my sales during the later years have had red figures at the bottom lines.

So - I do for now keep a very limited number of the beloved Silver Bell´s in my display / collection - I have pt. only 5 examples on my Danish for-sale-site acoustudio.dk/Banjoer%20til%20salg.html - 3 more are pt. in my workshop and will pop up later.

Funny - only a few years ago I had constantly 5-6 buddies / clients on a waiting list - wanting one of my rebuilt / restored SB´s. They are still out there - and they do still want one - only they do these days take great care of their funds / savings.

Why on earth are you selling your 19-fret 23" scale example?

I´m of course aware of the playability benefit of closer fingerings at a 17-fret 22" scale example - BUT - the long version does IMO give an optimal sound/sustain equality.

Not to worry, I have more.  This was nothing more than a restoration project.  And yes the 23" is way way way better tone for ITM.

I'd follow that decimal out 3 more to the right ~$3000USD.  This translation mistake also occurs in French-to-English with the use of commas to separate thousands.

Peter is right - in most of Europe we´re using the decimal point to divide the amount in thousands - and a comma for dividing f.ex. dollars from cents.

BTW - do notice, that the price level for restored banjos is very high over here - due to heavy customs fees and a high sales tax - plus very high labor wages.

Aha!  You´re moving so fast - I sometimes have problems keeping up with you.  Mind you - people / players are often saying exactly the same about me - LOL!

BTW - I´ve never had the chance working on a 22" scale / 17-fret Silver Bell - f.ex. for ITM - examples of this version are very rare here in Europe.
