I would like to see him get serious once in a while. I've heard he is a talented banjo player but his silliness....or Uncle Daveisms are so over the top that it doesn't come through for me.

I can't tell if this is deadpan humor or not, but if not, it seems unnecessarily snarky. By "y'all" is doubt he literally meant every single member of the forum.



For what it's worth I did enjoy it (I used to listen to Bobby Bare sing this - dad had a compilation of novelty songs from the 60s and 70s he played in the car when I was a kid), even though I understand where Montanarick is coming from. It's the first one of these I liked enough to comment on. I like the way he's playing that riff of the banjo.

Fair enough, but I'm just being selfish, I've had people tell me that he can really play beautiful old time banjo. I would just like to see some of that shine through once in a while. I for one would take him more seriously as a well rounded musician if he mixed it up a little.
