Anybody on the hangout who owns a arch top ever tried a mitch tone ring mate? If so have you compared it to using a conversion ring? I currently have a tone ring mate in my arch top but never tried a conversion ring before.

Mitch's ring is well respected. I use a Kelley conversion ring. I don't know if you can buy them anymore but it is great!

I have a 27 no hole......had a tone ring mate in it when I bought it.  Felt like it was missing "something" and took the ring mate out. As expected, it opened up quite a bit.......just more power I felt like. Have a Sullivan conversion ring on it right now and it sounds great. All in all.......all three setups were good, would really just come down to personal preference. Might be one of those thing you just have to play with yourself.
