Well, I'm excited to announced I completed the Akira Tsumura book collection.

I started the collection in 2014 with the big one, "One Thousand and One Banjos -- The Tsumura Collection" of which 2,500 copies were produced. A little while later I added the red book, "Banjos -- The Tsumura Collection" including the slipcover and the Japanese supplemental book. Eventually, after discovering it even existed, I tracked down the brown book, "Banjo -- The Tsumura Collection (1920-1940)."

In addition to the banjo books I found and added to my collection the two collections of playing cards, "Banjocard" and "Banjo Card II" and the framed poster that went with the big book, "154 Peghead Beauties."

At some point I got in contact with Akira Tsumura's friend who sent me some great photographs and information, which I really appreciated. And then Akira Tsumura, himself, contact me and sent me a letter and two photographs, which had been included in the big book (which I also appreciated).

I thought my collection was done...

And then I saw someone will all of those books, plus the green "Guitars -- The Tsumura Collection" book, and being the ever-competitive individual, I located a copy of the book, with had also been signed, and added that to my collection.

While searching for more information, I stumbled upon, and bought, a small book called "Extraordinary Ukuleles -- The Tsumura Collection from Japan."

At this point it was hard to not just try to complete the whole book collection, so I bought two books that are relatively easier to find, "Kampo: How the Japanese Updated Traditional Herbal Medicine" and "Furo: The Japanese Trendy Bath Life."

And, for Christmas, to finish the entire collection, I asked for, and received, from my parents, the final book in the "Tsumura Collection collection," the rare "Louis Armstrong -- The Tsumura Collection," of which only 200 books were produced.

With the book collection complete, and the letter and photes from Akira Tsumura, and the poster, and decks of banjo playing cards, there was little left to collect. I ordered two CD's of Akira Tsumura online, which are being shipped from Japan, and I bought Akira Tsumura's LPs, which I found on Banjo Hangout through a fellow BHO member.

There aren't many places that would appreciate this, but I thought I'd share a photo of the bookshelf with the books, and a link to my album that has other shots, include various magazines that cover the Tsumrua collection and Japanese magazine's covering the banjo.

Wayne, the International Banjo Magazine I traded you for is included in this collection!  I have it in a nice clear case with the Banjo Newsletter and Fretboard Journal issues that also covered the collection.

Now you have nothing left to do but to start collecting the banjos from his collection. I have the red book but that was my budget shot.
