Says Bacon on the dowel stick for sure. It's hard to see from the photos - does the skirt from the spun tone ring extend over the outside of the rim, or is there a rabbet it fits into?
It looks like a rabbet inside the rim at the bottom. Is that deliberate, or was there a strip of binding in there?

We're looking at photos that were meant to be posted in a different section of the forum. The dowel stick is not original to this pot:

The resident Bacon expert, Polle Flaunoe, has stated that it appears to be a bacon pot with a non-original tone ring and tension hoop.
I haven't checked lately to see if more information has been added.
