I have a Deering Maple Blossom blue grass banjo; the older version with the flat fretboard, and I love the neck. It is 1 & 1/4 inches at the nut. The Bart Reiter open back banjos are advertised to be 1 & 1/4 inch neck at the nut, but I know there's more to the feel of a neck than just that one dimension. Are they close to feeling the same? Any comments are welcomed?

The Deering neck will be thinner. Bart Reiter necks are a bit thicker.
When I say thick/thin, I mean the dimension from back of neck (where your thumb goes) to top of fretboard (where your fingers go).
To my hands, the Reiter necks feel 'bigger'. Especially up the neck. But I don't really ever play open back past the 10th fret so it's not a huge deal.
Comparing the two banjos is a difficult task because they're so different in design and intended use.
