1988 Bart Reiter Whyte Laydie Deluxe (with #7 style engraved inlay and bracket-band) - available.
At the Nashville Clawhammer Camp this weekend, I saw a truly stunning, early, Reiter Whyte Laydie Deluxe that is available. IMHO this is a collectable-quality example. It sounds and looks awesome.
The banjo appears to be original and unmolested. The finish is in amazing condition. On close inspection there is some very subtle weather checking (as is expected - just enough to indicate that the finish is likely original). But there is no finish loss, cracking, flaking, or compromise. Otherwise there are very few (if any) blemishes.
FYI: I have no financial interest in this banjo or it's sale. But because these top-of-the-line Reiter banjos are so rare and very infrequently offered for sale I just wanted to get the word out here in case there is interest. This one deserves to be in the hands of a very appreciative player or collector.

John, that is a truly beautiful banjo. It has all of the best features with the quality that comes from Bart Reiter.
