Welcome to the Hangout, Joe.

Two things. First, your query should have been posted in the "Collector's Corner" forum, where topics such as this are discussed. Do NOT post another query; I've reported this to the Mods, and they'll probably move the thread to that forum before noon today.

Second, there are definitely people here who can give you some insight. You'll have better luck if you post additional photos - closeups of the pot, front and back, the peghead, any identifying marks or brands anywhere on the instrument.

Once you've uploaded those, you can bring them into your post by adding them as attachments.

Looks like a 38 hook Buckbee. It's similar to mine (see photos) with the exception of the headstock shape which Buckbee made both shapes.

looks like you have a banjo built by the J.h. Buckbee company , banjohangout.org/group/jhbuckbeebanjos

Yours is probably late 1890s or early 1900s. more pictures out of the case showing different angles may possibly help narrow down the time frame.

they are great old banjos. not incredibly valuable, but fun to play.
