A 19 fret scale will be somewhere around 22 to 23 inches. A 17 fret scale will run around 20 to 21 inches. Those are approximations, different makers used different specs.

Of course the variable is the size of the pot & where the bridge is placed. I'm finishing off a 17 fret tenor banjo today that has a 23.5" scale length. It has a 12" pot and an archtop wooden tonering. It's low string actually has a 24 3/8" scale because it's fan-fretted.
