Found this one not sure what year or value could be assigned to it. It has mold all over the head and all over the body and the flange is broken. It has a super tall bridge on. It. Looks like over an inch, to me. It looks like neck does not meet the rim  properly.

No numbers on it anywhere and I don’t really have any more pictures of anything. Just give me your best guess please.

I would venture Gibson by name on headstock only. Doesn't remind me of anything from Gibson I recall seeing. Inside of the pot looks like someone raided a hardware store for some nuts and washers. Certainly didn't come from Gibson like this if anything about it came from Gibson at all.

I've never been to Kalamazoo and neither has that banjo......

Nothing Gibson about it!

The rim and flange are not even copies of Gibson.

The neck and peghead sort of tries to look "Gibson", but that inlay in the peghead never appeared on a "fiddle" shaped peghead.

Somebody put it together from parts, whether purchased or homemade. The neck has at least "some" look of quality to it, but the pot is just a mess.

Thank guys so much for your input. I didn’t recognize it either. It’s always nice to have expert opinions .

I'm not the expert some of you guys are, but I don't think I've ever seen a white-bound "fiddle" peghead.

Ira, oddly enough I've seen ONE pre-war hearts & flowers tenor that had a bound fiddle peghead on the tenor neck. A lovely thing. Most neck builders refuse to do a bound peghead because of the aggravation. I've asked!

Greetings all,

I just signed up here, I'm a novice but love the Banjo. Glad I found this site. I recently found this in my friends fathers attic. She needs a lot of help, I'm going to try and restore. I think it's called a minstrel banjo. There are absolutely no ID markings on it. Appreciate any input / thoughts. I can post more pics if necessary.  Thanks!

Cousticcasey, You should probably start a new post regarding the banjo you found in your friends attic.

Tacking it on to the end of another "banjo ID' post, that has already been discussed, is a good way for no one to see your post/question.

You're also going to need more photos of your banjo

can you post pictures showing the entire banjo, its not a gibson, but it could be a nice banjo, cant tell from these photos.
