Hey all - Round Peak uses mostly a handful of different mechanics. I’ve been practicing them obsessively. either on my fretless creed — woo hoo! — or Formica fretless from Round Peak banjos
Curious what some of you all consider the “hardest” Round Peak song / version to learn or play from the usual suspects… Jarrell, Cockerham, Creed, Lowe, etc.
Just curious. I have some of the books but generally listen to the songs very slowly and just learn them that way. Hard to capture the dynamics and each specific note otherwise.

What song do you consider the most difficult Round Peak song you have learned so far?

The difficulty comes in making them sound simple... to me that's the (paradoxical) beauty of what folks label "RPB" (downstroke style anyways). Kyle Creed? Double thumbed. Tommy jarrell & Fred Cockerham? Drop thumbed. Also, Oscar or Frank Jenkins 2 finger? Wade Ward 3 finger picking? That's RPB/Galax banjo too.
Interesting archived thread from a while back...
Just stuff to consider. Play on.
