Asking if anyone in Chicagoland can give me some comments on dealing with Down Home Guitars in Frankfort Illinois.
I'm considering a big spend there and would like to get some feedback on them first.

Never been there but they have 76 Google reviews and a 4.9 rating. One of the 5 star reviews was from Greg Cahill. Hopefully you’ll get a response from someone who has actually been there, but based on what I read I think you’d be safe.

You may want to poke around on the Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum to see if anyone has made references to that guitar shop. You wouldn’t have had to purchase a banjo there to get a sense of their reputation as an instrument dealer.

Have no fear ! My husband has bought a couple guitars there and I have bought a banjo and sold a banjo.
They are very knowledgeable and very helpful. We’ve been going there for years: to the store and a wonderful bluegrass festival every summer.

A Top notch music store!!!! I have visited there many times and attend the Frankfort Bluegrass Festival every year. Steve is the owner of Down Home Guitars & the guy that heads up & orchestrates the FREE festival every year with top national artists & bands. Steve and Molly are there almost all the time, great people to deal with.
