I picked this up at an estate sales yesterday for $80. Does anyone have any more information on the manufacturer or any details would be greatly appreciated. I bought it for my 16 year old son who is really good at guitar hoping he could continue the family tradition and learn to play the banjo too. Thanks!

This was made by Regal. I believe those flanges were colloquially called "Elephant's feet". You got an excellent deal on a seldom seen instrument. This will be well worth fixing up w/ a clean up, new head & strings.

Hello, This is a 4-string 19 frets tenor banjo with a pearl/pearloid fretboard, (laminated?) resonator, and pot (the smaller ring of pearl inside the flanges). Very beautiful color.

Based on this listing of a different banjo, that's likely the same Regal SR-59.
Others, please correct me if I got something wrong. I am new to banjo'ing and used this post as a exercise to learn the parts of the banjo better. I'm curious about that 13th & 14th fret if it's chipped off on the side or just the light hitting it. Take care.
