Rich&Taylor gold Sonny Osborne banjo. Great sounding banjo and it has been played a lot. Gold plated hardware has vary degrees of fade and patina with the armrest showing the most fading. Five Rickard high ratio tuners provide easy accurate tuning. Various light scratches and small dings are present on both the neck and resonator but none are too serious. Most of the “issues” are confined to the fretboard: banjo has been re-fretted with Stewmac med/med gold frets and there is some chipping of the wood fretboard at various fret slots. A new bone nut was added to accommodate the new frets. The fretboard binding is cracked at many fret ends and some has been reglued. There is a missing piece of binding just above the fifth string pip. Banjo plays great, sounds great, and has a very highly figured curly maple neck. Happy to provide additional pictures and answer your questions! No returns at this deeply discounted price. It’s a powerful bluegrass banjo with the expected crisp-percussive tone.
