For your consideration is a pristine example of the Art and Luthierie of Professor Douglas Unger. Doug is a world renowned professor of art, multimedia artist and Banjo Luthier. His inlay work and engraving is uniformly regarded as the finest in the history of the banjo. His carving is as good as it gets. John Bernunzio, one of the leading banjo experts and dealers for over forty years has sold Doug Unger banjos for as much as $10,000. This banjo has 10” head, 1 and 5/16” Nut, and 26.6 inch scale. The Vega Tubaphone Pot dates to 1923. I love the tone of this banjo. It is truly spectacular, loud, bright, and punchy in part due to the 10” head. The last two photos are a biography and history if Doug’s work. LIke all of Doug’s banjos, this is a masterpiece with superb tone in addition to being a work of art of heirloom quality. HSC.
