This is a maple "Gibson" reproduction neck by an unknown maker, crafted in the appearance of a Style 00 banjo from the 1930s. Typically when built, original 5 string 00 models had straight grain maple necks with no volute, no truss rod, and simple dot inlays on a rosewood board.
Whoever built this, well, they took some artistic leeway and made something a bit more unique.
- Straight grain maple construction, WITH a truss rod, cut for a one piece flange.
- Dot inlays but on a mother of toilet seat pearloid fingerboard.
- Water slide decals of flowers on one side of the heel, and a Mexican in a sombrero on the peghead.
I am selling this as part of an estate and essentially for someone to take on as a project. You could even play this as is if you so desired.
The pictured Grover two tab tuners and friction 5th peg are included in the sale.
