This is either an Ome "Megatone 400" or a Nechville "Megaphonic 40" 40-hole flathead tone ring. A while back I posted a photo of the ring here on the Hangout of this ring to find out who made it. One hangout member who knows a lot about Ome banjos told me it is an Ome "Megatone 400". Another member thought it looked like a Nechville ring. I sent a photo of it to Tom Nechville and he said that it is a Nechville "Megaphonic 40" and was likely machined by Gary Wood of "Wood Haven Industries" before he bought his equipment from him. The quality of the machining on this ring really nice. I was able to find some photos of an Ome banjo with an identical looking ring. That being said, I am quite confident that it is one of either of those, and it is possible that the same ring was used by both. It is in excellent condition and has a really good sound when tapped similar to the best rings out there. There is no lag screw hole drilled in it yet. $425.00 +shipping & insurance. Thanks for looking, Mike in Minnesota
