A wonderful late era Gibson banjo here. Wonderful condition 2002 Earl Scruggs Standard ‘49 Classic. One of the best playing and sounding modern Gibsons I’ve ever had. This is from the era when Sullivan was supplying many parts and building the necks (which I think are some of the best Gibson ever used). This banjo has the ‘mystery flange’ but it has a Kulesh ring (not stamped Gibson USA). As for wear, there’s some light color wear on the back or the neck in first position. A little wood chip on the peghead rear on one point and some minor pitting on the flange. Frets are likely replaced given the wear because there is zero wear on the frets or the board. Comes in the original slipcover The Gibson hardshell case with some light wear on the bottom edge.
