One of the best half-fretless banjos I've ever played. Bought for my personal use and I am only selling to pay some long overdue bills. This was Brooks #400 - and is made from some absolutely stunning flamed maple with birdseye maple for the fingerboard. Brooks' coin logo in the peghead and a great brass plate for the fretless portion. What I particularly like about how Brooks builds his half-fretless banjos is that he has position dots and filled frets underneath the brass plate which has REALLY helped with my fretting where there aren't any frets!
This banjo is strung with a custom heavier classical guitar string based set so it has wound 4th and 3rd (and is tuned BbFBbDF in Standard). I've done lots of experimenting making up these heavier sets and I'm particularly happy with this one for both sound and playability. This banjo sounds absolutely fantastic with a deep low rumbling sound which I adore.
The hardware is aged and has Brooks L&H style tailpiece and a thinned Fibreskyn head. Comes in a new-ish Superior hardshell case.
