This little beauty is in great condition for a 120 yr old! Serial #10320 on dowel and pot dates the banjo to anywhere from 1890 to 1893. Nice heel carving and heel cap inlay are in excellent condition. Peghead has original Champion tuners. Spunover 11" rim has nice petina. Presently setup with a frosted Remo head. It appears as though 4 hooks and shoes may have been replaced during its life. The cherry neck is good and straight. Set up with nylgut strings. I don't think anyone ever dared to put steel strings on this baby. It shows some wear on the back of the neck at first position. Action is fairly low and the banjo plays very well. Be sure to note the Common Sense tailpiece with ivoroid rosette. While she may not be a museum piece, this Stewart would be a nice addition to your collection. It can be yours for $1,600.
