Greetings,

I envy you all who play any version of banjo ........ my 1st goal is to play some country gospel and Psalms.

at 65 yrs., and NO music background, i'm now beginning this journey with my Fender 5 string (fb-54).

just joined clawhammer and beginner groups. Still confused about getting started ..... these old fingers need some coaching and stretching to be where they're supposed to be (-:

I pick 5 string (Scrugg's style) myself but find info for other styles interesting and helpful. Texasbanjo can help with the technical stuff. and the rest of us will hand out a load of encouragement. 	LWC says: 5/2/2011 1:34:25 PM Pete, welcome to the group I'm in the same place you are 64 and just starting I find my biggest problem beside fat fingers that have to think about where to go is practicing I don't have the discipline I need, don't have mom to make me do things like when I was a kid. Just remember have fun with it and don't be afraid to ask questions. Larry
