Working on learning clawhammer and two-finger thumb lead styles. Using tabs from the Mike Iverson site (clawhammer) and Thumb-Lead Banjer site. I listen to the mp3's, so I know what it is supposed to sound like. I can read the music/tab and play the notes, but I am not hearing the MUSIC, which is the object of this whole banjo-playing-thing. Tried audiotaping myself and it was down right embarrassing. I am not getting the right rhythm or syncopation (?). Any suggestions on how to get to that next level?

	prairiemik says: 8/22/2012 2:35:35 PM If lessons are not possible, get a book that shows the melody notes. Just play the melody notes with your mp3s. You might try Wayne Erbsen s book "Bluegrass Banjo for the complete Ignoramus" . I have the book and it works.
