band aids on fingers?

my hub says this is a no-no, but i find putting small pieces of bandaid on my fingers works wonders for chording. 

anyone else have an opinion?

I'm no banjo expert but coming from a guitar background I'd say your husband is right. You want your fingers to callous (?) up. That usually takes 2 - 3 weeks. Once they do you won't have any problem. But I reckon it's what works for you.

It seems like that would mess up intonation, too. Even with frets it makes a difference how quickly you get the string down and can even have microtones in the fret, bending, etc. banjo strings are soft so yo will get callouses quickly with no real pain.
