Have done a lot of research for my first beginner banjo. And I've landed on a Deering Goodtime, open back as a choice. As I'm new, I'd like some feedback from folks. Oh, that will be a 5 string, sorry! My thanks in advance!

	hiram357 says: 1/11/2014 12:23:31 PM After fooling around with a couple of lower end Asian banjos, I was finally able to get a Goodtime, and my only regret is that I didn't get it sooner. Sounds great, and is pretty good looking to boot. You made a good choice to start with in my opinion.

	roadstar75 says: 1/17/2014 4:53:18 PM I was lucky to find a nearly new Good Time Classic II resonator on Craigslist as my starter and my teacher agrees it is a great banjo to start on. The Good Times don't have the big sound of a Deering or other pro banjo with atone ring but still sound pretty good regardless. I jumped ahead and bought a Deering Calico because of the deal but the Good Time works great.

	just4fun63 says: 1/23/2014 5:27:31 PM Go with the Good Time. My first was an inexpensive Banjo and it hindered my progress. I found a great deal on a Gold Tone OB 250 blem on eBay. Saved 75%! What a difference
