Started over a year ago and don't have a teacher so I just fumbled along for A LONG TIME.. Learned to do some rolls but had no idea what to do with them.. Decided I wanted to learn to play CORNBREAD AND BUTTERBEANS and the only on line instruction I could find was on BanjoLemonade.COM and it's clawhammer so I decided to learn clawhammer (love that song andMandy is VERY helpsul) Been making a lot of progress since then.. I can make it through that and the 1st part of OLD JOE CLARK.. Then realized I could use the notes from those to play RED RIVER VALLEY and THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND and even ODE TO JOY and a couple others by ear.. Still a little shakey in spots and slow, but I'm pretty happy with my progress.. (Built my own banjo which is a story of its own)
I haven't tried CRIPPLE CREEK
Damn, this is fun
