Way to go hang in there, I was 62and have no musical talent but have been at it for a year and it is getting better. Make sure you tape yourself so when you think it's not getting better listen to your first time and you'll be amazed. Practice practice. Good luck and welcome.

Go for it, I`m 67 and have been playing for 4 yrs. I started with the Murphy Method I found it the best to begin with.

Started in October at the tender age of 67. Enjoying the experience. Since we travel in a Motorhome I am being urged strongly by my wife to buy a mute. I also am using the Murphy tapes along with a couple of good friends who play banjo. Good luck. U tube is also a great learning tool.

62 and just starting out. Yet to get a banjo...got a shortlist of instruments I'm interested in, but I just need to sell a few things to finance it, and then I'll be away! :-)

I started at few months ago at 35, Seeing all of you guys starting in your 60s gives me an extra boost of motivation. I now know I have no excuses when I might be tempted to think I am too old.

You guys rock! thanks for the inspiration!
