Hello! My name is David Grigsby, I'm 57 years old, I live in Florence, Al. which is in the NW corner of the state. I have just started the banjo (July 15th 2011) and really enjoying it. I am using an instructor and he has me doing right hand rolls, working on a few licks, playing "Bile dem Cabbage Down " and "Banjo in the hollow". My banjo is a Gibson Epiphone I bought used from a previous student. It had a hard case, tuner, metronome, picks, extra strings and a music book. I got it for 400.00 and paid about 45.00 for a complete new setup at The Sound Shop, a local music store. I would like to hear from other Alabama players about their banjo experience, jamming or anything music.
Thanks, David
