(from 12/15) Merry Christmas! My wife just made me an aluminum rim outcast by gifting me an original Gariepy 5-string (SN 1-1607). It's in great shape and sounds wonderful--bright and plunky. Any other Gariepy owners here?

	John Gribble says: 12/25/2015 11:00:05 PM I'm one. I have a model 2 acquired new over 50 years ago. For a long time it was my only banjo. I still play it regularly and will never never never let it go.
	jun3machina says: 10/15/2016 7:28:31 PM Sweet! The one I just picked up is 1-1527. I put new things on it, light gauge Martin's. I normally go medium gauge. Kinda like them on this though. What type of neck do you have? There's one on eBay right now with a darker wood neck than what I have. I was curious if he stuck with any particular woods..
	tucsonsean says: 10/16/2016 10:05:09 AM This is actually an old thread I updated with the correct serial number. But for the record, the neck on mine is darker, Walnut I believe. My plectrum had a lighter neck, like yours, Maple maybe? I can send pics of the two necks if you like, Jun.
