Hi, my name is Mark Raborn and I will be performing at Fiddler's Dream Coffee Shop in Phoenix on Friday May 3 from 7:00-10:00. I also wanted to let you know that I’m conducting an intensive, one-day banjo workshop at Fiddler’s Dream Coffee House on Saturday May 4 from 9:00AM until noon or so.

We’ll cover everything from licks, tunes and tab, to playing harmony, and how to jam with others when you don’t know the tunes. We will also cover some basic, almost-painless, music theory as it applies to 5-string banjo, as well as the three basic 3-finger styles: Scruggs, melodic and single-string. There will be one-on-one time with each participant and follow-up tabs and audio recordings customized to EVERY individual’s desires. Be thinking of tunes that you’ve wanted to learn or improve on.

Anyone with an instrument is welcome, but those that have already had at least a lesson or two, or at least practiced some rolls will glean the most from this event.

Cost is $50 for the day and includes LOTS of handouts, follow-up tabs and audio files. It’s like getting several months worth of lessons in one morning! Join us! Call ahead, or just show up a few minutes before 9:00AM.
