If there's anyone who is learning banjo and would be keen to attend a 3 day workshop weekend the Australian Banjo Conference is on this year from 6th - 9th Dec, there is also a second conference which is called The Australian Bluegrass Conference being held 13th - 16th Dec which will have instruction for banjo, guitar, mandolin, fiddle and bass.

The venue for both conferences is Tranquil Park Resort at Maleny in Qld.

Ross Nickerson will be there again with X-Train who are a great band to see perform life and all members of the band are great guys to talk to. Last year X-Train kindly did backup for all of the attendees who got up and performed at the 'student concert' which was a real thrill for us wanna-be banjo players.

	peter somerville says: 10/27/2012 2:06:08 AM I'm looking forward to going to my third trip to the conference as an instructor. it's always a lot of fun- great bunch of people. This year i'll be teaching mainly clawhammer technique. there seemed quite a demand for it last year. i'll start with the basics then cover as much as i can, drop thumb, 'skips', the galax lick and so on, how to create your own solo.
