Aussie banjo builders

From Paulf on 8/7/2013 1:59:22 AM

Don't know what is happening but tried to log on to Banjo brothers and Eucalypt banjos with out any luck.  Banjo brothers site displays 'no longer trading'.  It would be a shame if we has lost these two builders.

I sent an email to Eucalypt banjos about a month ago. I never did get a reply. I ended up buying a Deering Sierra instead, for about the same money. But you're right, would be a shame to losers good luthiers.

Hi paulf,it's peter here the founder of banjobrothers australia.Yes we have stopped trading, the reason for this is quit personal.I had a major injury to my neck and as a result of my injury,I had to have surgery,I now have nerve damage that has left me with numb fingers and constant pain so I cannot do the quality of work I would like anymore,or even play my jo much anymore which is the worst thing to me of all!.So I made the hard decision to close up shop and try to rehabilitate..sorry if this has caused any inconvenience to anybody.

Hello everybody. Banjo building, repairs, parts, etc is still alive in Melbourne Australia. Any questions for help please contact Leon here or folkinstruments.webs.com or email folkinstruments@hotmail.com
This is the new place in Australia for all your banjo needs.
Thank you to my friend Peter, together we made Banjobrothers the best banjo company ever in my opinion. We offered so much more than any other builder in my opinion, from custom builds to upgrading and setups.
I will carry this service on into the future for anybody needing help or advice.
Very proud of the banjos Peter and I built and if you ever come to me for a service you can play and check the quality of the Eureka which was our flagship banjo. Hopefully Peter can unretire when I need spray work done as his work is the best I've seen. Come join me on Facebook folk instruments Australia Banjos

Folk Instruments Australia will be supporting David Aumann a Melbourne based mandolin, ukulele, acoustic guitar maker. Most of us love our instruments and play almost anything so if you need his contact details email or check the F.I.A. website.
Don't forget White Swallow banjos are going strong for every model you can think of and Bellbird banjos for those who what Aussie made.
Best value openback banjos has to be Ray Black who also makes lovely mandolins here in Victoria.
I know of more people building banjos so the future is looking strong for Victorian instrument makers.
