Pat Doole Banjo Cheap Melbourne

From pluckyfingers on 8/9/2013 2:52:51 PM

For sale in Melbourne. reduced from $2000. Not sure of the pot size, but an excellent handmade banjo made by Ray Black a fine  luthier near Geelong. Get in quick you may even be able to reduce the price.(Not mine but I have one and it is a top old time banjo). Probably Aussie blackwood. Click on the banjos link at the site.

No way Richard, good open backs are like gold in Oz. At festivals, I regularly hear favourable comments about the tone of my 'Doole and thankfully also these days, my playing.

Somebody should buy it with confidence as the build quality is good and the value is good.
Maybe you need another one Bill? :)

It's just been reduced to $1200. seriously. I've never seen a Doole banjo going so cheaply. You could probably get this for a $1000 if you "haggled".

What tone ring does it have ?
And by the way , are you guys going to Guildford ?

Not sure about the tone ring, but all the Dooles I've seen have the custom tubaphone or electric. I'm thinking about Guildford. it is a good festival for the diversity of music it offers, weather dependent at this stage as the only option for me is to camp. It's been a long cold and wet winter down this way. What about yourself?

I'm planning a ride from Albury to bendigo by bicycle as part of the trip, so yeah I'll be there !
