Well, today is the day that we've all been waiting for.. Banjo and bluegrass players traveling in from all over Australia and overseas to meet in Maleny for the 2013 Australian Banjo Conference. As one who has been there for all the conferences I can say that it is definitely not an event to be missed, especially this year with it's all star line up of American and Australian musicians.

One thing we all need to do is thank Peter Nahuysen and all the organisers for the huge amount of work they put in every year.. So big round of applause in advance, you guys do a wonderful job.

	Grum says: 12/17/2013 2:36:03 PM I've been to all the conferences as well and can say, without a doubt, that this was the best ever! Alan Munde and Jens Kruger were wonderful, wise, skilled, friendly and humble all at once. And the surprise for me was Ian Simpson - we really under-rate our Australian talents - this guy is a seriously good picker with a wonderful heritage of banjo picking and bluegrass in Australia.

As you say, we have some awesome talent in Australia and I think we do underestimate it sometimes, so it was great to see Ian Simpson on the faculty, and jamming until the sun came up!
