It's been a long time in waiting, but I finally saved up enough money and purchased a very nice Silver Bell just like my grandad's. I took it apart piece by piece and cleaned it up. It really looks and sounds great! I haven't played a tenor in over 15 years. It only took about 1 hour to get my chops back. What a nice instrument. My last tenor was a $200 Harmony. I now see the difference between a mass made clunker and a fine one like this. I have a renaissance head on order. The original calfskin head is worn out and stinks to high Heaven. The original case has a terrible smell and needs some TLC, too. It's a 1927 with a custom factory neck. When I get the new head on I will post pix. Right now it has a black Remo and looks a little goofy. I'm a happy guy!!

It is louder, clearer, and the tone is great. I can't wait until after Christmas to buy a Renaissance head for it.
