A little video of my playing two songs on a 1926 B&D #3 four-string banjo.

These are examples of the socially acceptable music of 1918, and that new hot jazz.

I'm playing in a somewhat "lost style" that was popular for about a decade in the early 1900's. Note that the melody is achieved by voicing the full rhythm chord and melody note simultaneously, up and down the neck. I learned this old-style from an old-guy when I was a kid, and now, as another old-guy, I'm passing it on. Bypassing musical theory, it utilizes the "wiggly-fingers-technique" that I favor.

The local newspaper came up to my place and quickly shot this. They gave me one go at it and left. Boy, it was cold that day!
