I recently purchased a B&D Senorita by Gretsch. It says Made in U.S.A , followed by SN# 6830. Its is machine stamped with gold ink. 5 , Gretsch flip up sring loaded tail piece. Can anyone please give me some info on it please. I tried for hours reading forums but as some of you know you can get lost in this subject relatively easy. My email is aijn81@gmail.com. 	beezaboy says: 6/23/2015 5:11:39 AM Hi Ian - Congrats on getting your Senorita 6830. It is believed that in June 1968 Gretsch began stamping the dowel "Made in USA" followed by a date coded serial number. The first one or two digits is the year. The next number is the month. The third numbers refer to the unit. So, your banjo is 1968 - June - unit number 30. Pre-war and post war Gretsch Senorita banjos had a pearloid veneer fretboard. In about late 1967 or early 1968 the pearloid board was discontined and chaged to a rosewood board. Also by 1968 the rim was a multiply one. The Senorita was not a Silver Bell and has a tone hoop instead of a Silver Bell type archtop ring like the Serendader and Symphonie. I hope this gives you some info. John
