I picked up a Bakelite Silvertone a few months ago and wondered how a 50 year old banjo with no apparent truss rod still had a straight neck. It appears that someone replaced the 5th string tuner and it was coming out of the neck. The splined part that goes into the wood was showing and it was not straight.

Anyway I pried it out and looked into the hole, thinking that I had to fill and re-drill the hole and found what appears to be an aluminum bar in the neck. Apparently these were built better than I thought.

Anyone have a problem with neck warping or twisting??

	giweb says: 8/19/2015 11:50:03 AM I have three longnecks and one 22 fret. None have bent or twisted necks. One of the long necks was a basket case but still has a straight neck! giweb
