I replaced the head on my Goodtime with cross stitch material in a natural color to match the light wood. This made it extremely quiet, so it's now an ideal practice banjo to use at the office. (It helps that my desk is under a noisy A/C register--my coworkers can't hear the banjo over the A/C at all.)
Anyway, I keep looking at these designs, and thinking that if I could con my wife into cross stitching something for me, it would make a beautiful head.
Has anyone else tried anything like this?
