Just joined this group to pick up Beginner tips on Clawhammer. I've been playing Scruggs style for years, but I have a heavy thumb, and my 5th string always comes off too strong. I've been slowly converting my 3-finger up-picking tabs to clawhammer, and I noticed that, without picks, my 5th string is back under control again. I actually use a little talcom powder for my thumb to ease on the heaviness and actually like the almost muted sound of the 5th string. I've posted beginner clawhammer tabs on my Christmas Corner Group and Gospel Lover's Group, and will link them here. They are simplified without too much drop-thumb, and I'd appreciate feedback on how to improve on them. Thanks
