Back in the '80's there was a dude from Winnipeg, Brian Ramsay, who produced a ' learn the 5 string in one year' course ( Earl style) that had a tab book and 5 audio tapes.  Great course ... I learned from it.  He also produced his own 'bender' fingerpicks.  Can't seem to find him on the 'net'.  Anybody know anything???

I played in several bands with Brian. As far as I know he dropped of the edge of the earth, haven't heard from him in years. I think there are some links to his free banjo lessons web page. or you could google "free banjo lessons ,Brian Ramsay" and see what come of it.
hope this helps you

Anyone know where this material is on the net? A quick search doesn't show any valid websites.

Thanks for the link but I was hoping it might be in public domain.

Thanks Lee. Of course I will pay for shipping and probably put a real nice post on this site about your generosity!

You know, I find people in general are not very nice like they used to be years ago but I'm finding all kinds of good people on this site. Maybe it's true that good people play banjos?

well it took a couple of years but I have obtained a copy of Brian's course book, but without the cassettes.
