The Kingston Bluegrass Jam has moved again!

We got tired of the parking problem downtown and are now in the Legion on Montreal Street (about halfway between John Counter and Railway/Rideau). There's plenty of parking here.

The jam begins at 7:00 p.m. Thursdays and goes until ten or eleven, depending upon who else is using the facility.

This is an open, friendly circle jam. As Sandra says, "Come to play or to listen."

	Paul R says: 2/8/2015 7:23:11 PM Good one, Chuck! The person in charge at the Legion is a definitely-not-so-old woman. She lets us know when we're being kicked out. We usually go to eleven. It's a treat going to a place that has no shortage of parking. When we were downtown, you'd have to park in a different time zone and walk to the club with instruments and other assorted stuff. A couple of weeks ago I went in spite of the snowstorm. I figured I'd be the only one to show. Fifteen pickers showed up! One guy, who was there with friends, went home and came back with his fiddle. Every one who arrived was admitted to the certified crazies club! Afterwards, we helped each other brush the snow off our cars. Clearly, weather isn't a factor.

	Paul R says: 2/16/2015 4:45:12 PM Jeremy, we are not a high-pressure group. We have all levels here, and everyone gets as much of a turn as she or he wants. We just come for a good time. Feel free to show up and take part as much as your comfortable with. When I first went, when it was at Ben's Pub (since closed down - so sad; it was the best place to play), I didn't know what the pickers would think; after all, I played clawhammer on an open-back. They were welcoming from the start. And now I'm one of the three "organizers" (at least, my name's on the e-mail). I play banjo (CH and 3-finger) and guitar at the jam. We have two or three other banjo pickers. One, Mary, is in a BG band. We never know how it's going to go. Come on out and try it!
