I just put these on my CEB-4: D'Addario EJ45 Normal, 6,5,4,3. I replaced the strings that came with the banjo. I assume these were the Wayne Rogers strings recommended and sold by Goldtone.

I love the brighter tone of the D'Addario C, G and D strings but the A sounds a little muted and dull. I've ordered some Hard and Light tension D'Addario strings to compare, as well as sets of Black Diamond and GHS Gypsy loop end strings.

What strings do you prefer on your CEB-4?

	erwindink says: 5/10/2012 6:51:58 AM I just replaced the normal tension A with a hard tension string and it sounds much improved. I've still got others to try out but these sound really great.
	Paul Roberts says: 7/21/2012 8:48:57 PM I use the Gold Tone sets. Besides cello tuning, I can take them all the way down two octaves below fiddle/mandolin range.

I bought a new Goldtone set since I wasn't positive that's what was on the cello when I bought it. I like these a lot but the A broke before I even got it in tune. Weird. So now I have the Goldtones on the three bottom strings and a GHS GY27 on the A. This set sounds very good. All the C and G strings I've tried thus far have been very loose and give off a lot of buzz. I guess it's the nature of the beast, eh?
