My CEB-4 is very, very buzzy, especially on the C and G strings and I don't know how to fix it. I've found some strings better than others but the buzz is always there. I'm actually considering a taller bridge -- has anyone tried that?

Any other tips on eliminating buzz?

	Paul Roberts says: 2/27/2013 12:55:22 PM You might want to look into having the frets leveled and dressed by an expert. The neck angle may need to be addressed. Nothing wrong with a taller bridge if the action permits. On the subject of strings, I've found the set Gold Tone has dialed in for the CEB-4 to be the right ones for me. PauL banjocrazy.com

	Paul Roberts says: 2/28/2013 1:57:24 PM Make sure they're good; this is extremely critical stuff and it's worth paying someone to do it right if you want to get the most out of your instrument. First step is get the right strings.
	erwindink says: 4/6/2013 2:00:51 PM My local banjo expert told me he thought the banjo setup was excellent. He said the buzz was mostly due to my bad technique but that with the low tension C&G strings some buzz would be expected. So, I’ve been playing around, working on my technique but also with bridge placement. I can make the buzz go away almost entirely by moving the bridge an inch higher (away from the tailpiece). The banjo sounds a little brighter this way, and I like that. But then the tuning is off a little when I play the higher frets. I'd like to try a slightly higher bridge so now I'm looking for the best way to do that. I've got a friend who could make one for me but he's got a broken wrist and will be in a cast for several weeks. I wonder if anyone makes a generic banjo bridge (without slots) that would be wide enough for this instrument...
	erwindink says: 5/3/2013 7:52:34 AM Sounding sweet now. I replaced the bridge and put on some new strings. The new 11/16" bridge is #3 on this page: banjobridge.com/br-08.htm I am quite pleased with it. Also, the new Goldtone string set is fantastic. I don't know if they changed their specs but they sound much better than the first set I tried from them two years ago. The banjo tone is bright, crisp and clear and I have virtually eliminated the buzzing. It feels like playing a new instrument.
